Should Wash return to Firefly?

Alright, time for me to try talking about something that isn't videogames. I've been a big Firefly fan for over a decade now. My mum was a fan before me and when I hit my teenage years she made sure to get me hooked on it. Of course, everyone knows the heartbreak that comes with being a Firefly fan - it's so easy to get swept up by it, but there's only one season and a movie. It will never feel like it was enough content, but recently there has been a glimmer of hope, and by a glimmer I mean basically a Supernova exploding in our faces - it looks like we're getting a reboot.  And yes, I am fully on board with the idea that it's not anything else. The language they're using is far too specific. Nathan Fillion is filming videos where he visits every person on the original crew, minus the late Ron Glass who played Shepherd Book, and they all seem to know what's going on. Something big is on the horizon, and in their words, "it's happening." Th...

Pokémon, Saints Row and the beauty of small open worlds

I’ve been thinking a lot about Pokémon Legends ZA recently. If I’m honest, I’ve been doing more thinking about it than playing it. After all, I’ve finished the game, including the DLC, with mostly some extra quests and Pokedex slots to fill out but my time with the game feels like it has mostly come to an end as I look toward Pokemon Winds and Waves. But I did play a lot of it for a pretty long stretch of time, and honestly, I had a blast with it. It isn’t perfect. For me personally it’s a step back from Legends Arceus, with the catching being severely deemphasised and made less fun, but I understand why – they wanted to make battles the star of the show and the new battles system is fun. I still don’t think I am in love with it, but I just think that’s a personal taste thing because I’m not really into these kinds of games anyway. But I was never into turn based RPGs either and I love regular Pokémon games. The gameplay is fun enough, the story is excellent and I really enjoy the ZA...

$20 for Pokémon ports - is this actually a big deal?

If you're somehow unaware, recently it was announced that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are to be rereleased for Nintendo Switch. What was going to happen with Pokémon rereleases has been a big question mark over the Switch ever since the Gameboy and Gameboy Advance were added to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service, and now we have our answer - not through their subscription service at all, but rather as standalone ports. This caused controversy amongst the Pokémon community, but this is the Pokémon community, that community can find controversy out of a tree. The controversy here, though, is quite interesting for a few reasons. The first is because Nintendo has done almost exactly what people have been asking - they released their old games away from Switch Online. This seems great... so why is everyone still up in arms about it? The obvious answer is that, actually, there are probably a lot more fans of Nintendo Classics and how it's been built up than you might h...
